About placencia

Placencia is a perfect location to experience all Belize has to offer. The beach, diving and snorkeling, deep sea and flats fishing, and river expeditions to see wildlife are all directly connected to the village. The jungle, zip-lining, cave and river tubing, and Maya architectural sites are all available within a few hours by car. Xunantunich, Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary, Mayan King Waterfall, and the ATM Cave are not to be missed. 

Besides a perfect location, Placencia Village has incredibly nice people, great restaurants, and an easy laid-back vibe. Not so touristy and not a party destination like other towns, you can always find residents eager to share their culture, cuisine, and time with you. We are a 5-10 minute walk from the Placencia Beach Club, which is open to the public for swimming, eating and drinking at the swim-up bar at their beach-side pool, and daily passes for up to 8 people are included in your stay at Casa Valencia!

Belize is known of course for its seafood: fish, conch, shrimp and lobster, but don't miss out on trying the traditional Creole cuisine including stewed chicken and rice. Local rum and beer are inexpensive and delicious. Placencia boasts numerous amazing restaurants, ice cream joints, and bars. Some of our favorites are Wendy's Creole Cuisine, Rumfish, The Galley, the Little Wine Bar, Hobbs Brewery, Maya Beach Bistro, Big Titty Rum Bar,  and the Placencia Yacht Club.
